Heavy iron stirrup with solid sides. The platform is oval with a figure eight-shaped opening. This stirrup resembles one found at Wetherburn Tavern in Colonial Williamsburg. It may have been a cavalry (military) stirrup (Noel-Hume 1990:Figure 10).
