Stamped brass buttons

This flat disk with eye soldered to the back is the most common type found in excavations at Davidsonville. Makers' names, concentric lines, wreath motifs, and gilding impressed or in relief on the backs are characteristic of these buttons. These brass buttons were very popular and are found in archeological contexts dating from 1800 to 1865.
